But if you are definite about wanting to drop a dress size, you need to get off the lounge. If it means you can get in 20-30 minutes of exercise still do it. By getting in even this amount of exercise you will burn off calories, increase your heart rate and get your blood circulation flowing.

3. Get some Tone

A common misconception is that strength training is only for people who want to build muscles, however it can actually help you lose fat and drop a dress size.

Strength work assists in fat loss because of the simple fact that muscle is better at burning calories than fat.

However, it’s worth keeping in mind that muscle does weight more than fat. So this means that the scale isn’t the most reliable factor when trying to work out if you have lost any pounds. Don’t let this worry you because the best test is how your clothes fit you. You can still drop a dress size even if the scale doesn’t show any drop in weight and you will now have a nice toned body to show for it.

4. Fresh Food Only

Let me make it very clear that processed foods are not good for your body. Things such as canned fruits, canned soups, and processed meats contain a whole heap of hidden calories, fat and salt.

You should steer well clear of food like this if you want to drop a dress size quickly.

Instead of eating processed food you should adding healthy, fresh and natural food. A good place to start is to eat foods like chicken, fish, fruits and vegetables. Here’s something to remember the next time you visit the grocery store – stick to the aisles on the outside.

Grocery stores generally fill their middle aisles with processed foods so resist the temptation by not going through that area.

5. Eat Fibre every day

Your daily diet should contain a healthy dose of fibre, which is just as important as protein and carbs. One clear advantage of fibre is that it will keep you feeling full for longer on less calories and will cleanse your digestive tract.

Fibre rich foods include wheat bran, prunes, apples, whole grain cereals, peas and soybeans.

6. Eat More Often!

Now this isn’t an excuse for you to begin a binge eating catastrophe! If possible this means you should try moving away from the standard three large meals a day.

Instead you should try and eat 4-6 small balanced meals a day. Through increasing the number of meals you eat your body will more burn more fat due to increased metabolism and you wont have the usual highs and lows in your blood sugar levels.

The bottom line is that by cutting down on portion sizes but eating more regularly you will be able to quickly drop a dress size!
